On this page you'll find late breaking news on the people and technology we write about. Whether it's a career update on one of the bands, film makers, animators or equipment designers we've interviewed or a cool new product introduction -you'll find these breaking news items here ( -and on the "Breaking News 1" page )!
Benjamin Gladden has to be one of the most remarkable people CTS has ever interviewed! At just sixteen, and "making due" with an absolute minimum of computer gear ( -most of it woefully out of date and under-powered ), Benjamin has none-the-less created some of the most engaging and compelling animations and film score music I've ever seen or heard. If you haven't already, you should check out Ben's interview ( -Parts 1
and 2 + "UPDATE" ) below. Incredible stuff! ( -ABOVE ) BENJAMIN GLADDEN

And for those into the "unique and different", check out some of the synthesizer designs being offered by the "SYNTH PROJECT". The objective is to create unique synths that "fill-in" the gaps in mainstream synth maker's lines. In other words, to create synths you can't buy elsewhere!
The cool thing is the "SYNTH PROJECT" is actually asking synthesists WHICH designs they like most ( -hoping to "crowd-fund" the designs that get the most votes ). So, by all means CAST your VOTE in the "SYNTH PROJECT" poll ( -which you'll find here: https://creativetechnerds.jimdo.com/synth-project/ *NOTE: Scroll down the page to find the link to cast your vote ).
WHICH of these synths would you like to see put into production? ( -the portable 5-lb, Yamaha "ReFace-sized" "Grab n' Go" Workstation keyboard below? The unique "all-in-one" "Rhythm Section" drum machine ( -that includes bass and guitar samples as well as guitar-strum patterns ) ( or ) one of the OTHER designs on the "SYNYTH PROJECT" page link ( -above )?
The "SYNTH PROJECT" takes synth design to a new level. CAST your VOTE and be a part of the "PROJECT"! The design ( s ) that get the most votes may be "crowd-funded" into production. The exact opposite approach to what most synth manufacturers do ( -typically having their "in-house" engineers slap together a "cheap-to- produce" design that customers haven't even asked for ). The "SYNTH PROJECT" is hoping to change that paradigm once and for all -giving synthesists and keyboard players the technology they want and need!
The "Rhythm Section" Drum Machine. Another one of the "SYNTH PROJECT'S" proposed gear designs.
In addition to typical drum machine features and pads, the unit offers musicians the chance to add bass and rhythm guitar parts ( -using high quality samples taken from vintage classic guitars and bases ). The unit even offers six "guitar strum" ( -ABOVE ) "SYNTH PROJECT'S" "RHYTHM SECTION" patterns and "guitarisms" ( i.e: pitch bends, capoing, chiffs, hammer-ons, etc. ) to give your guitar parts even more realism! If these are the types of synths and products you'd like to see made in the future -participate in the "SYNTH PROJECT" Poll ( -above )!
Do you love small synthesizers? Do you use them to create your own original spacerock or electronic-music? Or maybe you use mini synths to score film music for low-budget sci-fi films or for radio or TV commercials. If so, here's your chance to have your work heard by the Worldwide Electronic Music Community! Scroll down the page link ( -below ) for details and an official entry form.
A new synth documentary is looking for mini synth users to profile. If you are using small synths like Roland's SE-02 or Boutique JU-06A to create your music or sound-effects/ sound design, "Tiny Synths, Mighty Sounds" may be interested in profiling you in their upcoming film.
You can learn more about the project by following the link below. Scroll down the page and you'll find an official entry form you can fill-out and return to be considered. Those selected will receive a DVD copy of the film and it's sound score when it's released ( -estimated Winter 2022' release ).

As a tribute to all the Spacerock artists and bands we've interviewed over the years ( -and just because we're big Spacerock fans here at CTN ), I decided to use some of my space art to design a "Spacerock Rules!" T-Shirt ( -see right ).
I think it's pretty cool myself. The glowing graphics really make it "pop". I included a definition for the Spacerock genre at the bottom. The perfect attire for those going to a Spacerock concert or Festival or just to show your love of the music!
Here's what the design looks like om some Classic T-shirts. Available in a variety of shirt styles, sizes and colors.
